Welcome at Dusk is your catch-up welcome program held during the evening in Week 3 that will prepare you for starting your studies in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

You'll listen to talks from experts across the University of Sydney, complete a series of workshops to build your academic skills, be connected with our Student Mentors, International Student Mentors, Peer Learning Advisors, Postgraduate Leaders and Academic Advisors, and network with other new students and staff over food and refreshments. 

It is your opportunity to be prepared for academic, professional and personal success by:

• Gaining knowledge about your field of study and the opportunities available to you as a student in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences
• Developing practical skills in university-level writing, academic planning, career development and more
• Meeting new people, building your networks and becoming an active part of our community
• Learning from the experience of our senior student leaders who you can ask any questions you have about starting uni.

Welcome at Dusk offers tailored orientation streams for local undergraduate students, international undergraduate students, local postgraduate coursework students and international postgraduate coursework students where you will find out information specific to your student experience, as well as networking sessions all together where you will meet and mingle over light refreshments.
